09/22/13 Sun 0030 Traffic Crime – Officer provided traffic control for a temporarily disabled vehicle which was still in the roadway.
09/22/13 Sun 0042 Trespass – Officers issued a trespass advisement to an intoxicated man who was no longer welcome on the property.
09/22/13 Sun 0435 Ambulance Request – EMS personnel provided care and transport for a man experiencing chest pains.
09/22/13 Sun 0439 Assistance Rendered – Officer assisted EMS with a patient.
09/22/13 Sun 1003 Alarms – Officers checked a local building after being notified of an alarm activation at that location. No signs of entry were found. The responsible party was asked to secure the building.
09/22/13 Sun 1312 Welfare Check – Caller asked an officer to speak to some children who had ignored her when she tried to talk to them about playing in the road. The responding officer found no children in or near said roadway.
09/22/13 Sun 1317 Civil – A driver reported his vehicle had been struck by a taxi five months earlier, and had not yet been fixed as promised by the taxi driver. The taxi driver stated that arrangements had been made to have the vehicle fixed as soon as parts for it arrive. An officer advised the man to file a small claims suit if he was not satisfied with the resolution.
09/22/13 Sun 1507 Suspicious Person/Activity – Officer contacted several people who have long been suspected of illegal activity, all of whom appeared to be caucusing around a vehicle. No indication of illegal drug use or sales was observed.
09/22/13 Sun 2202 Assault – Officers responded to a fight in progress in a taxi outside the Amaknak Fire Station. According to the driver a passenger, who had allowed another to ride in the taxi with him, had fled after the man to whom he showed such kindness began to fight with him. The victim, whom the taxi driver believed was uninjured, was not located. The alleged assailant was released.
09/23/13 Mon 0045 Unsecured Premise - Officers checked a local building after finding an open door at that location. No signs of entry were found. The responsible party was asked to secure the building.
09/23/13 Mon 0735 Traffic Roads – Caller reported a tarp on the roadway. Officers moved it.
09/23/13 Mon 0831 Animal – Three kittens, fostered by a Unalaska resident, to be flown to a facility in Anchorage.
09/23/13 Mon 1147 Criminal Mischief – Officer advised a man who has been removing other people’s advertisements and posters from a public notice board that he could be charged with a crime if he continues to do so.
09/23/13 Mon 1517 Harassment – Caller reported feeling harassed because an Alaska State Trooper had given him a ticket at his residence, and had then pulled him over and was standing next to the caller’s car window. Caller then said he had other things to do and didn’t have time to deal with this.
09/23/13 Mon 1550 Civil – Officer attempted to serve a summons on a man who he learned had left the island.
09/23/13 Mon 1914 Assist Other Agency – Officer interviewed a sexual abuse victim on behalf of an out-of-state agency.
09/23/13 Mon 2129 Found Property – A camera, in a taxi.
09/23/13 Mon 2256 Trespass – Officer issued a trespass advisement to an intoxicated man no longer welcome on the property.
09/24/13 Tue 0617 Animal – Loose dog.
09/24/13 Tue 0635 Public Safety – High wind advisory, with gusts to 80mph expected.
09/24/13 Tue 0850 Domestic Disturbance – Officer responded to a residence wherein a husband had allegedly hacked the wife’s cell phone in order to read her deleted messages. The wife refused to comply with the husband’s demand that she leave. There was no indication of physical violence.
09/24/13 Tue 1429 DUI – Caller reported a possibly intoxicated driving in a parking lot at the airport. An officer contacted the suspect driver, who displayed no signs of alcohol consumption and said he was parked because he was carrying on a phone conversation.

09/24/13 Tue 1643 Trespass – Officers serving a search warrant found evidence that a man had been living in an abandoned house, to which he has no legal right of access. Charges pending.
09/24/13 Tue 1711 Fire Response – Fire personnel were toned to a previously unreported trash burn, which appeared to be large and out of control. A responding officer found that the burn pile was well contained and was being attended.
09/24/13 Tue 1741 Ambulance Request – EMS personnel provided care and transport for a woman with a high fever and headache.
09/24/13 Tue 1742 Assistance Rendered – Officer assisted EMS personnel with a patient.
09/24/13 Tue 2133 Ambulance Request – EMS personnel provided care and transport for a one-year old child that had fallen and hit her head.
09/24/13 Tue 2136 Assistance Rendered - Officer assisted EMS personnel with a patient.
09/24/13 Tue 2202 Domestic Disturbance – Officer observed a couple, neither of them wearing shoes, walking along the roadway. After speaking to them he learned the two had been arguing about the husband’s drinking; their argument had not led to any physical violence. Another household member was able to verify that no violence had occurred.
09/25/13 Wed 0125 Noise Disturbance – Officer responding to a noise complaint at a bunkhouse found a man fixing dinner in the common kitchen. The man agreed to make less noise.
09/25/13 Wed 1243 Animal – Loose dog.
09/25/13 Wed 1611 Traffic Roads – Officer provided traffic control while the driver of a disabled vehicle on the approach to the South Channel Bridge moved his vehicle off the roadway.

09/25/13 Wed 1958 Assault – Officers responded to an alleged knife fight at a local hotel and found that one man had pulled out a still-closed folding knife after another man aggressively ran at him in a hallway, made threatening remarks and held his fists as if ready to fight. The assailant was identified and provided a similar version of events, but the victim chose not to pursue charges.
09/25/13 Wed 2020 Assault – Officers investigating a fight at a hotel found that it had been preceded by another brawl in the upstairs lobby, this one involving five people, one of whom was the aforementioned assailant. Three of those involved were ultimately told to leave the facility. No charges were filed.
09/25/13 Wed 2025 Trespass – Two intoxicated men who had been involved in multiple fights at the hotel were issued trespass advisements, per management. The inebriates left after spending a considerable amount of time trying to justify why they should be allowed to remain.
09/25/13 Wed 2030 Animal – Dog turned in to UDPS for adoption.
09/26/13 Thu 0006 Trespass – Officers contacted two men, one of whom had been evicted from a hotel, inside the airport. The men were advised they were not allowed to remain in the building but could use the seating outside the terminal. After another lengthy diatribe, the men complied with the officers’ request.
09/26/13 Thu 0502 Suspicious Person/Activity – Caller requested assistance removing an unwanted man from the vehicle in which she lives. An officer responded but the man had already fled.
09/26/13 Thu 0505 Trespass – A third man who had been involved in a fight at the hotel but who had fled prior to officers’ arrival was discovered at the hotel. He too was issued a trespass advisement, per management.

09/26/13 Thu 1041 MVA Damage – Woman reported she had found her vehicle damaged about 18 hours earlier. There was no evidence to help identify a suspect vehicle and it is possible the damage was caused by objects blowing in our recent high winds.
09/26/13 Thu 1439 Warrant Arrest – Jason Fennimore was arrested on an outstanding warrant
09/26/13 Thu 1507 Criminal Mischief – A van at Summer Bay had seven of nine windows broken in a manner inconsistent with mere wind damage. Under investigation.

09/26/13 Thu 1640 Subpoena – Subpoena served on a local business.
09/26/13 Thu 1717 Assist Other Agency – Officer conducted a search and urine test on a felony probationer, per request from Kenai Adult Probation. No violations were noted.
09/26/13 Thu 1845 Animal – Two dogs turned in for adoption.
09/26/13 Thu 2012 Ambulance Request – EMS personnel provided care and transport for a man recently diagnosed with cancer.

09/27/13 Fri 0543 Traffic Roads – Several callers reported boulders in the roadway near Westward Seafoods. Public Works was notified.
09/27/13 Fri 1102 Ambulance Request – EMS personnel provided care and transport for a man with severe GI problems.
09/27/13 Fri 1137 Environmental – Vehicle owner reported his vehicle had been vandalized, but upon closer inspection he and the responding officer determined that the damage to his truck was caused by high winds whipping the bed liner from his pickup and slamming numerous items against the windows and hood before depositing them in the parking lot and the harbor.

09/27/13 Fri 1747 Summons – Court issued a summons for a criminal charge.
09/27/13 Fri 1750 Summons – Daylen Luff, 29 yoa, was issued a summons for a criminal charge.
09/27/13 Fri 1839 Traffic Crime – Caller reported someone habitually parks in front of his house and partially blocks the roadway. An officer attempted to contact the suspect driver but was unable to locate him.
09/27/13 Fri 1903 MVA Damage – A woman backed into her neighbor’s parked vehicle, sparking a violent confrontation between the two furious femmes. Damage to the two vehicles was negligible and the only injuries were those caused when the two irate women began pummeling one another.
09/27/13 Fri 1908 Assault – A woman upset about her vehicle having been damaged by her neighbor’s poor parking job expressed her displeasure by accosting her neighbor and punching her in the face. The neighbor returned the favor. Neither woman wished to press charges though both complained to the responding officer about the other.
09/27/13 Fri 2024 Disorderly Conduct – An inebriated customer threw his fruit salad on the floor of a grocery store and cursed at employees. An officer advised the drunk, per store management, that he would be barred from the store if he continued his immature behavior.
09/27/13 Fri 2101 Assistance Rendered – A truck driver, upset at having had to stop suddenly for a driver that had whipped past him while he was maneuvering into a loading dock, asked an officer to contact the other driver and explain how difficult it is for large vehicles to come to a sudden stop. An officer did so.
09/28/13 Sat 0440 Burglary – Officers serving a search warrant in conjunction with several drug-related arrests found evidence that someone had broken into and was living in a foreclosed and empty house. Charges pending.
09/28/13 Sat 1028 Animal – Loose dogs.
09/28/13 Sat 1310 Sexual Assault/Offense – Police responded to local residence regarding a report that a woman had been sexually assaulted by an acquaintance at a small get-together the night before. Conflicting information was obtained from the two involved parties. Under investigation.
09/28/13 Sat 1436 Burn Permit -
09/28/13 Sat 1520 Assistance Rendered – Taxi driver asked for police assistance because a passenger had fallen asleep in her cab and she did not know what she should do. An officer responded and woke the passenger, who shouted obscenities at the officer before getting out of the taxi.
09/28/13 Sat 1811 Drug Law Violation – Christopher J. Cordell, 31 yoa, of Washington, was arrested on one count of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance II. Cordell was one of a number of people arrested after a months-long undercover investigation.
09/28/13 Sat 1841 Suicide – Officer contacted a young man who had allegedly made several suicidal comments, and determined that though the youth was upset he was unlikely to harm himself.
09/28/13 Sat 2207 MVA Damage – Caller reported that his neighbor had again struck his and his wife’s vehicle. The neighbor, who had been consuming alcohol prior to parking her car, was given sobriety tests before being released. New damage to the two vehicles was negligible.
