Unalaska Announces New Fire Chief; 06 March 2018
Unalaska, AK – The Unalaska Department of Public Safety (UDPS) is pleased to announce the selection of Ramona Thompson for the position of Fire Chief. Ms. Thompson is a long-time resident of Unalaska and has been employed as the Director of Clinical Services at the Iliuliuk Family Health Services clinic since 2007; prior to that she was the EMS Coordinator for UDPS for 11 years. Ms. Thompson has over 35 years of Fire and EMS experience including over 20 years’ experience supervising both paid and volunteer staff, and helped certify many of Unalaska’s current Fire/EMS volunteers. Ms. Thompson brings a wealth of knowledge, skill, experience and enthusiasm to the Fire/EMS division and we look forward to her return. Ms. Thompson’s first day of work will be March 12, 2018.
