Cameron Fountain, 26 years old, was taken into custody after leaving the scene of an accident in which he ran his vehicle into a parked, unoccupied car and boat. Investigation revealed Fountain was intoxicated during this accident. Fountain was charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, Leaving Scene of Accident, and failure of Immediate Notice of Accident.

Officers investigated a report of a stolen rental vehicle from the rental lot; the vehicle was found at a boat dock with multiple broken windows.  There were also 2 other vehicles at the rental lot that had been damaged.  The theft and property damage is still under investigation.

Officers responded to a report of a fox that had been hit by a car and was now suffering. Officers located the fox and observed the fox was in pain and decided it would be best to put the fox out of its misery. Officers humanely ended the life of the fox and took the body to the landfill for proper disposal.

Officers responded to the Airport after receiving a report that a passenger had been removed from their flight due to their high level of intoxication. Upon being advised of their removal from the flight, the individual became agitated. Officers arrived and found that the individual had an active warrant for his arrest.

Officers arrested Mathew Titialii, 40 yoa, on the authority of an Alaska State Trooper warrant. Officers contacted Titialii after it had been reported he had been removed from his flight due to his high level of intoxication.

Officers responded to a local residence after being notified that the individual residing in that residence may not have permission to be there. Upon contacting the owner of the residence, officers verified the current tenant was given permission to be at the residence.

Officers responded to a local bank after the security agency for the bank reported an active alarm there. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the cleaning crew, who stated they did not know the code to disarm the new system that had recently been installed. The cleaning crew opted to return at a later time once they had obtained the new code.

Release Conditions

Officers arrested Michael Wayne Purvis, 50 yoa, after responding to a report of individuals yelling at each other at a local residence. Officers observed signs of intoxication during the contact and knew Purvis was on conditions of release from a prior case that included not consuming alcohol. Purvis admitted to the offense and was subsequently arrested.

The Animal Control Officer observed a dog on the loose in the valley. The ACO turned around the follow the dog which he observed was now at a residence. The ACO spoke with the owner of the dog and issued a verbal Dog at Large warning.

Dispatchers spoke with an individual in the lobby of Public Safety who had located a wallet outside of a local cannery. HR for the cannery was contacted and they were able to confirm that the rightful owner of the wallet did work for them, and they would notify the owner of the wallet that the wallet was at Public Safety. The owner of the wallet later came to retrieve his wallet.

Officers arrested Jack Bernard Sternhagen, 56 yoa, after it was reported he had violated a protection order. Officers received a report that Sternhagen had approached the protected individual named in the order. and had shouted an expletive in their general direction before riding away on his bicycle. Eyewitnesses confirmed this story.
