Fire Chief Resignation; 17May 2016
From the office of DPS Director Mike Holman – “It is with some regret that I announce that Zac Schasteen tendered his resignation effective today as the Fire Chief for the Unalaska Dept. of Public Safety. I recognize that the community may have questions about this event and while many specific issues must remain confidential, I can tell you that I have lost confidence is his ability to be the Fire Chief. In the interim, I will be working closely with our paid and volunteer staff to ensure that we continue to provide the community with the services it expects and needs. A search for a new Fire Chief will begin next week.”
