Communications Sergeant Peter Gurney
Peter Gurney joined Unalaska Public Safety as a Communications Officer in September of 2009. In September of 2012, he was promoted to Communications Sergeant. Sgt. Gurney is currently certified in Emergency Medical Dispatch, Emergency Fire Dispatch, and Emergency Police Dispatch through IAED. Additionally, he is a certified Quality Assurance Provider in Emergency Medical Dispatch and Emergency Police Dispatch.
Sgt. Gurney is the Terminal Agency Coordinator for Unalaska Public Safety and has served as Unalaska PSEA President since 2015. In December of 2021, Sgt. Gurney obtained a Master's Degree in Public Administration with a Concentration in Emergency Management from Jacksonville State University. Peter takes great pride in helping to ensure quality Public Safety services to the citizens of Unalaska.
