LEPC Looking for Members

Unalaska, AK – The Aleutian Region and Pribilof Islands Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) is looking for members to fill Media, Local Environmental and Transportation positions. The LEPC, which includes the communities of Unalaska, Atka, Adak, St. Paul and St. George, is mandated to develop and review emergency response plans and provide information about chemicals in our regional communities to our citizens. Members meet quarterly, and also participate in Spring and Fall Preparedness Conferences and various outreach activities.

Emergency response plans are developed by the LEPC with stakeholder participation and membership include at a minimum, representatives from the following groups: elected officials, law enforcement, civil defense, firefighting, first aid, health, local environmental, hospital, transportation personnel, broadcast and print media, community groups, and owners/operators of facilities subject to regulation by SARA Title III.
