Patrol Division

The Patrol Division is part of the Unalaska Department of Public Safety. It is the primary law enforcement entity for the City of Unalaska and the International Port of Dutch Harbor.

The Patrol Division consists of a  Deputy Chief,  four Sergeants, and nine Officers. The on-duty patrol officers and the supervising Sergeant provide immediate law enforcement coverage to the community.  Officers respond to and investigate a wide variety of cases.  Since the community is remote, officers must be able to follow through on investigations from initial complaint to prosecution.  Cases occur not only within city limits but also on state and federal lands or waters, and the division is regularly requested to investigate on behalf of other agencies whose personnel are located far away. We are proud of the depth of expertise of our officers and encourage and promote a wide variety of skills and advanced education. Many officers in the division are certified police instructors.
