PRESS RELEASE 

On July 29, 2019 at 0200 hours Unalaska Police officers responded to the Unisea Galley after the company's security officers had reported a disturbance.

While investigating the disturbance, officers contacted 31 year old Angel Alonso, a Unisea worker from California, who was employed in the company's quality assurance division. Alonso exhibited strange behaviors, and while addressing officers revealed that he had drugs on his person. Subsequent to those admissions, officers recovered approximately two ounces of a substance that later field tested positive for the presence of Crystal Meth, street name for an illegal to possess methamphetamine. Also recovered from Alonso's person were a number of small plastic baggies and a small box scale. These items are commonly associated with packaging illegal drugs in preparation for distribution. Alonso admitted to his involvement in selling the drugs in Unalaska/Dutch Harbor.

Alonso was arrested and has been charged with a class B Felony, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute. Further investigation is ongoing and subsequent charges may be forthcoming. In all, 51.3 grams of methamphetamine were seized. An approximate street value of those drugs in Unalaska us is about $12,000.00
