Senior Citizen Real Property Tax Exemption

If you turn 65 before January 1st, you may be eligible for a senior citizen real property tax exemption up to the first $150,000 of assessed value of your permanent residence. You must own the property and occupy it as your primary residence. Applicants must complete the Senior Citizen & Disabled Real Property Tax Exemption Application (form attached below) and return it to the City Clerk’s Office on or before March 1 of the year you will first be eligible and for each year thereafter.  For more information about the senior citizen & disabled veteran real property tax exemption, contact the City Clerk's Office at 581-1251.

Disabled Veteran Real Property Tax Exemption

If you are a disabled military veteran with a VA disability rating of 50% or greater, you may be eligible for a disabled veteran real property tax exemption up to the first $150,000 of assessed value.  You must own and occupy your residence, and you must be eligible for the Permanent Fund Dividend.  Applicants must complete the Senior Citizen & Disabled Real Property Tax Exemption Application (form attached below) and return it to the City Clerk’s Office on or before March 1 of the year you will first be eligible and for each year thereafter.  For more information about the senior citizen & disabled veteran real property tax exemption, contact the City Clerk's Office at 581-1251.
