Public Information Requests

Public Records

Alaska Statute 40.25 and Unalaska Code of Ordinances (UCO) 2.92.040 – 100 provide that the public records of the City of Unalaska, with certain exceptions, are open to inspection by the public under reasonable rules during regular hours. Disclosing public records and making copies of them upon payment of the required fees, if any, is a public agency obligation.

In order to request public records, a Public Records Request Form must be completed.  City code does not require the citizens of Unalaska to bear the expenses associated with public records requests.  Those requesting public information should be aware that costs may be associated with the response to a public request.
