Unalaska Lake & Lower Iliuliuk River Restoration Project - Public Comments Requested
The City of Unalaska, working with PND Engineers, is undertaking a planning effort to improve salmon rearing capacity of the Unalaska Lake Drainage basin. To date, two public meetings have been held in Unalaska. Attached below is a copy of the PowerPoint presentation from the second meeting held on November 19, 2014, a comment card and a link to download the audio recording of the meeting.
The drainage is an important resource to all residents that must be cared for to provide recreational and subsistence opportunities for generations to come. The City is developing two plans to improve conditions within Unalaska Lake and the Lower Iliuliuk River. The first plan addresses improving the quality of stormwater runoff within the drainage basin and the second plan will focus on habitat preservation and restoration within the Lower Iliuliuk River. We are looking for your feedback on these proposed planning efforts and your input is encouraged!
