Planning Department Awards
November 5, 2015, Unalaska, Alaska: The Alaska Chapter of the American Planning Association recently announced that the City’s Planning Director, Erin Reinders, AICP, CPM, has been selected as the 2015 PLANNER OF THE YEAR for her outstanding contributions to the planning field in the State of Alaska, as well as her exceptional work for the City of Unalaska.
Anthony Grande, the City’s Planning Administrator, has been selected as the 2015 EMERGING PLANNER OF THE YEAR for his current work and his demonstrated potential of continuing to influence the planning profession for years to come.
In addition to these individual awards, the Unalaska Planning Department and the Planning Commission received the SMALL TOWN PLANNING PROJECT OF THE YEAR for their Land Use Plan and the PUBLIC OUTREACH AWARD for coordinating outreach efforts related to the APA Community Planning Assistance Team work in Unalaska last year.
Erin and Anthony’s achievements, as well as those of the Unalaska Planning Department and Planning Commission, will be showcased at an Awards Luncheon during Alaska APA’s Annual Convention in Anchorage on November 17, 2015.
The Alaska APA Awards program is an opportunity to celebrate the efforts of planners and citizens who make Alaska communities stronger through planning.
