Michael Holman named Unalaska's Director of Public Safety

MiCHAEL Holman named UNALASKA'S
director of public safety

City Manager David Martinson has hired Michael Holman as Unalaska's Director of Public Safety, following the retirement of Jamie Sunderland. 

Holman has been with Unalaska's Department of Public Safety for 20 years, starting as a Police Officer in 1995.  He was promoted to Sergeant in 2001 and Deputy Police Chief in 2011.  Holman attended the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, in 2012 and holds a MPA from Ashford University and a Graduate Certificate in Criminal Justice from the University of Virginia.

"Mike's experience and professionalism make him the perfect choice to lead the Unalaska's Department of Public Safety" stated Mr. Martinson.

Chief Holman will assume his new duties on January 16, 2016.
